CEI ENVISION Grant Program — Call for Proposals

The Center for Environmental Intelligence (CEI) has launched the ENVISION Grant Program (“ENVironmental Innovation for Sustainability and Intelligent solutioNs”), supporting interdisciplinary research that addresses Vietnam’s environmental and sustainability challenges across three pillars: Environmental Monitoring, Sustainable Urban Development, and Smart Energy Systems.

Funding: Up to USD 300,000 per project for large-scale, high-impact interdisciplinary research.

Eligibility: Open to all full-time VinUniversity faculty, with priority consideration for early-career, research-active faculty when funding is limited.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Include one full-time postdoctoral researcher
  • Involve at least one distinguished professor from the CEI Advisory Board or a VinUniversity partner institution (e.g., a QS Top 100 university, or a President’s/Provost’s Chair Professor or equivalent) as Advisor or Co-PI

Priority given to: Projects offering training opportunities for at least one VinUni PhD student and one Master’s student.

Encouraged: Collaboration with a research faculty member from a Vietnamese MoU partner university (e.g., VNU, HUST).

How to apply: Submit a complete proposal (project title/team, 1-page executive summary, up to 5-page project description, budget & justification, timeline, expected outcomes) as a single PDF to [email protected], subject line “CEI ENVISION Grant Proposal – [Your Name].” Use the official proposal template.

Timeline: Projects run up to 2 years, with 6-monthly progress reports and a final report; teams present outcomes at a workshop, symposium, or conference.
