Introduction

Dr. James Collin is an Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences. He oversees the critical thinking block of the VinCore curriculum, and the philosophy curriculum at VinUniversity. Dr. Collin received his MA in Philosophy from the University of St. Andrews, and his MSc. and PhD. in philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to joining VinUniversity, Dr. Collin was Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow. His work focusses on the nature of meaning and representation, and the implications thereof for issues in metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of science, and philosophy of religion.
