Introduction

Professor Hai Hong Trinh is the University Research Professor of Finance, Full Research-Focused Professor in Financial Economics, VinUniversity Faculty-200 Visionary Internationally Ranked Professor, Vietnam. He serves on the Research Committee (Finance). His research interests broadly range from the microstructure of financial markets and institutions to macroeconomic phenomena, with a focus on inclusive growth and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As of early 2026, according to the SSRN rankings, Professor Hai Hong Trinh has been firmly ranked among the world's top 1.5% most prolific authors out of over 2.5 million authors ranked as prolific authors worldwide. Notably, Professor Hai has been leading a strong track and multidisciplinary series of top-quality working papers for his academic fields of globally recognized research portfolios of expertise. With a proven record of scientific publications in well-regarded journals, Hai is an internationally recognized financial economist who is among the most prolific nationally ranked authors in Vietnam and New Zealand (according to the 2019 P-Rank ABDC Journal List). Over the years, Professor Hai has been the principal head person of research, director of research, discipline head, and chair of research, with a strong track record of published research projects with experts in the fields across countries and regions worldwide. Over the past many years, since his very early academic career stages, Professor Hai's world-class research portfolios, globally recognized scientific milestones, and distinguished contributions have been growing constantly and transitioning to his exceptionally outstanding leadership capacities, leading and shaping supporting strategic academic research directions that are aligned with the world's major and prestigious societies, associations, and institutions. His global scientific portfolios have been flagged across the world's major prestigious associations and academic societies. Given his globally established scientific records over the many years, Professor Hai has been invited to act as an academic referee for over 60 well-regarded internationally peer-reviewed journals in his research portfolios of expertise, constantly reaching 100 international journals. Through diverse executive and scientific academic roles for many years, Professor Hai's scientific contributions, engagement, and academic development activities have been recognized by the world's major and most prestigious conferences, academic societies, and associations, namely, the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), the Sydney Banking and Financial Stability Conferences (SBFC), Financial Management Association International (FMA) Annual Conferences, and many other prestigious associations. With a strong track record of scientific publications, Professor Hai has been invited to act as an ad hoc referee for many dozens of international peer-reviewed journals. Professor Hai has a proven record of internationally PhD-oriented research-track students through various supervisory roles, such as the invited independent advisor, direct supervisor, and mentor. Many of his research-gifted top-performing students pursue rigorous research training at leading institutions such as the National University of Singapore (NUS), the University of Melbourne (Australia), the University of Auckland (New Zealand), Seoul National University (Korea), and the University of Exeter (UK), among other prestigious institutions. Professor Hai was the research mentor for the British Accounting and Finance (BAFA/CPAF Research Mentoring Scheme) and the New Zealand Statistics Association (NZSA).
