Green organisational leadership has become an important topic in sustainability studies with the growing significance of environmental protection. However, most research on green organisational leadership has focused mainly on its general concept and has not paid much attention to the constituent components in explaining the innovation of green practices. This study used structural equation modeling to analyse data collected from 315 employees at luxury hotels/resorts in Vietnam. Green innovation practices in organisations are influenced by green transformational leadership, commitment to green environment implementation, green innovation spirit, and green organisational identity. Meanwhile, green organisational identity plays a mediating role in the relationship between green innovation practices and green transformational leadership, commitment to green environment implementation, and green innovation spirit. The findings from this research significantly benefit hospitality businesses by providing policy recommendations that encourage employees to be highly aware of the need to implement green innovation, thus contributing to the development of sustainable tourism.
