Seminar “Brief Review of Hydrologic Modelling & Machine Learning for Satellite – Precipitation Estimation: The PERSIANN System”

The seminar will provide an overview of hydrologic Rainfall-Runoff modelling and highlight the progress, refinement, and challenges in applying Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) for global-scale precipitation estimation. Emphasis will be placed on high temporal and spatial resolution data essential for hydrometeorological applications and climate studies.

Participants will also be introduced to the “Precipitation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks (PERSIANN)” products, developed and made operational by the Center for Hydrometeorology and Remote Sensing (CHRS) at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine).

📅 Date & Time: 10:00 – 11:00, November 4, 2025
📍 Venue: D305, VinUniversity
