Introduction

Associate Professor Pham Ngoc Nam is the Vice Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at VinUniversity. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 1997, and his M.S. in Artificial Intelligence and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven, Belgium, in 1999 and 2004, respectively. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, QoS/QoE management for multimedia applications, reconfigurable computing, and low-power embedded system design. He is the author or co-author of over 100 scientific articles, including more than 30 indexed in ISI and Scopus. He has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) of one key national project and three ministerial-level projects, and as a key member in four other national projects. Prior to joining VinUniversity, he was affiliated with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, where he served as Vice Dean of the School of Electronics and Telecommunications. In this role, he gained extensive experience in CDIO-based curriculum development and AUN-QA program-level quality assessment. He has participated in various training programs—both domestic and international—on curriculum development, accreditation, quality assurance, higher education leadership, and active teaching/learning methodologies. He was a visiting scholar at Cornell University from 2020 to 2024, and a visiting professor at the University of Aizu, Japan (2015), Chulalongkorn University, Thailand (2013), and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, USA (2009).
