Introduction

Dr. Than Thi Trang Uyen received her BSc and MSc in Cytology from VNU–Hanoi University of Science (Vietnam) in 2003 and 2007, respectively, and a PhD in Biomedical Science from Queensland University of Technology (Australia) in 2017. She joined Vinmec in 2017, has been with VinUni since 2024, and serves as Central Lab Director at the Vinmec–VinUni Institute of Immunology. Her research focuses on the application of extracellular vesicles in regenerative medicine, including the development of products for skin rejuvenation, hair growth, and osteoarthritis treatment. Several of her products are currently in use within the Vinmec Healthcare System for skin rejuvenation. At present, she is developing exosomes as drug-delivery systems—loading therapeutic agents into exosomes, conjugating targetable peptides onto exosomal membranes, and embedding exosomes in hydrogels to achieve controlled release.
